Ash Costello’s Bat Wing Boots Launch on Purple Heels

When Iron Fist invited Ash Costello to colab on a new new clothing line, we shoulda freakin’ known it’d sell out in, like, 4 seconds flat. The New Years Day vocalist took a year to put together her Bat Royalty range, which launched under the Iron Fist brand in October of last year…and with ‘the dark side’ in her corner, Ash’s items have been selling sensations ever since.

In an interview with Iron Fist Ash describes Bat Royalty as “bad bones and bondage” for the “hella rad but super sad” – so lots of red and black, bones, bondage and bats. Glorious, beautiful, badass bats.

One of the collection’s hottest sellers has been the Bat Wing Boot; a seven-hole lace-up with detachable bat wings and a platform sole that’s totes awesome for extra height at gigs; like when ‘George the Giant’ – the tallest dude in the known world – picks you to stand in front of, and there’s no way you’re gonna see and sing (shout, mosh, headbang…all of the above) with any sort of simultaneity.

And this renegade boot even has a twin! The White Walker Boot (see above), with its glistening wings, is marketed as ‘an innocent twin’ but do not be deceived…Game of Thrones – anyone? Those freaky skeletal guys from the show, also known as ‘The Others’ but better known as ‘White Walkers’ in George RR Martin’s books:

“In that darkness the White Walkers came for the first time. They swept through cities and kingdoms, riding their dead horses, hunting with their packs of pale spiders big as hounds.”

Innocent? Uh…no.

Don’t you love it when a shoe becomes a metaphor for the complexities of human nature, which is very rarely a clear-cut case of bad or good, white or black, but rather a mish-mash of the two. So really, if we’re going to be authentic – true to the complexity of our composition – we have to have both boots; the Bat Wing and White Walker boots. Right?

Both boot styles are available at the Purple Heels NOW! Click Here. You don’t wanna miss out!
